About the Author
Hi, I’m Darshan, a Computer Science student and a Software Engineering Intern at AT&T. I am also a proud member of the open-source and Linux community. I started experimenting with Linux distros a little over three years ago when I started my freshman year in college. I wanted to explore what lies beyond the default experience of Windows.
Since then, I’ve used and customized multiple distros, including Ubuntu, Linux Mint, and Arch. I’m not just a user; I actively post and comment in Reddit communities like r/linux, r/linux4noobs, and r/opensource. I’ve spent time scripting bash commands, optimizing window managers, and customizing everything from GRUB bootloaders to dotfiles.
My experience has given me a better understanding of the fundamental principles behind open-source software, like transparency, flexibility, and user control. This website contains my opinions as someone who believes in privacy, digital freedom, and performance. I want to help change the mindset of both users and developers who are used to thinking only within the Windows ecosystem.
